MagicJack requires PC |
| One disadvantage of MagicJack is that it requires a PC to work as it doesn't simply plug into an Internet port the way Vonage and other stand-alone VoIP devices do. However, the MagicJack is much portable than carrying a Vonage phone or adapter when you're traveling, as long as you have access to an Internet-connected computer at your destination. If you don't, of course, you may have to bring along your laptop, which is bulkier than even a Vonage phone. Overall, then, in terms of convenience, magicJack does little more than replace the headset Skype and other Internet calling services typically require, as well as eliminate the need to download and fire up software. |
