| A major issue with using voip is the inability to activate 911 calls. This is because 911 are setup for traditional phone lines. In 2008, companies providing voip calls are being made address this issue. For example, Vonage, has encouraged its customers to register their locations from which their 911 calls could be routed to the local public safety answering point.
